    Desert Choice Schools is looking for a 1:1  Program Aide for a Life Skills classroom (students with  low functioning autism) to start immediately. 

     

    This position is perfect for applicants with the background in Psychology, Special Education and  Health Care. This position starts at $ 14.00 and comews with the benfits and tuition reimbursment for up to $ 2000 per year.

    Responsibilities

    Desert Choice Schools utilizes a highly-structured, school-wide Positive Behavioral Supports program that teaches students Academic, Social/Emotional Problem-Solving and Strategies. All DCS teachers and support staff are trained in a unique methodology that assists students with maintaining Positive Choice-Making.

     

    As an Program Aide, you'll be a part of a school-based special education team. You'll provide assistance to the teacher in the implementation of  student individualized programs. You will be supported by a mentor and an on-site administrator.

    Qualifications

    What you'll need:

    • High School Diploma required; college degree preferred
    • Your current Arizona DPS IVP Level  Fingerprint Clearance Card is required or ability to get one
    • RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) Certification preferable
    • 1-2 years' experience working with children in a special needs education setting
    • Ability to collaborate and receive feedback, mentoring and direction from peers and supervisors
    • Demonstrated experience in maintaining a professional and clinical perspective at all times.
    • Demonstrated experience using physical ability and dexterity to safely and effectively use Crisis Management Interventions (including the use of therapeutic holds) of all involved (e.g. self, student, other employees
    • Assist with toileting and feeding need
    • Preform duties as determined by the team which can include daily living skills, behavioral intervention, and maintaining students daily schedule.
    • Ability to lift 60 pounds
