Desert Choice Schools is looking for a Special EducationTeacher at our location in Buckeye, AZ for the upcoming 24/25 SY.

 

Desert Choice Schools, a Learn It Family of Companies division, is a certified K -12 Private Day School approved by the Arizona Department of Education to provide Special Education Services.

 

Desert Choice Schools utilizes a highly-structured, school-wide Positive Behavioral Supports program that teaches students Academic, Social/Emotional Problem-Solving and Strategies. All DCS teachers and support staff are trained in a unique methodology that assists students with maintaining Positive Choice-Making. We are a tight-knit team that values colleagues who exhibit collaboration, integrity and the desire to make a difference in the lives of students who struggle to be successful, and who share a passion to help children and their families.

Responsibilities

The Special Education Teacher is responsible to implement all Desert Choice Schools/LEARN Behavioral Program Components with integrity as well as oversee behavior technicians’ implementation of these components:

  1. Desert Choice Schools/LEARN Behavioral Clinical Program
  2. Curriculum and Instruction
  3. Special Education Services

Qualifications

  • Active and valid Special Education K-12 Cross Categorical or mild/moderate teaching certificate issued by the AZ Department of Education
  • Bachelor's degree minimum
  • Teaching experience with elementary, middle, and/or high school students
  • Experience working with emotional and/or behaviorally challenged students preferred
  • Arizona state IVP fingerprint card
